Archos G9 1.2Ghz October and 1.5Ghz December availability

Posted by Charbax on September 30th, 2011

Archos publishes an update on the faster OMAP4 processor speed availability in the G9 tablets:

Archos G9 Turbo 1.2Ghz models start to be released by the end of October.

Archos G9 Turbo (Plus?) 1.5Ghz models start to be released by December.

Archos G9 1Ghz are being released right now.

It seems that there is still no confirmation if the Turbo tablets come with 1GB RAM or not. Price difference for Turbo seems to be to pay $30 more, which doubles ROM to 16GB and might also double RAM to 1GB.

“All our Gen 9 devices have 512Mb of RAM” <- this is a reply from e-commerce@archos.com when I asked about RAM in 1.2GHz version

That could mean anything. That could mean all current G9 and not all Turbo ones coming out later.

well, I agree that this could mean anything assuming the person responding to my question does not know anything about the product lineup :)
I was asking specifically about the 1.2GHz version and possible RAM difference compared to 1.0GHz so no, their response could not be about the 1.0GHz versions only

That’s not a confirmation sorry. The people answering emails often don’t know much, if they see some G9 1Ghz having 512MB RAM they may think that means all G9 has that, but they don’t know.
