Archos 70 Internet Tablet at IFA 2010

Posted by Charbax on September 2nd, 2010

Archos first 7″ capacitive Android tablet, with ARM Cortex A8 omap3630 1ghz processor, it’s 300gr in weight, very thin and it costs $275, that is less than half the price of the similar Samsung Galaxy Tab.

GPS is 3x faster when you got assist from 3G. There will only be a 3G version if carriers make deal with Archos to distribute it on 3G networks in some countries.

You can install the full Google Marketplace easily on it. It takes 1 minute to just find the .apk file to install it.

For now they make it 8 or 16GB and a 250GB model. Maybe they also make a 500GB one but they have for now only announced a 250GB version.

Charbax, if you have the archos 7 home tablet, do you think there will be a trade in available…?

all the specs of the archos 70 an 101 are posted on the website, except one of the important ones, the amoun of RAM available on the devices,, there is no word at all on this. it is all hush hush…. the absence of native market place is not a deal breaker but the amount of RAM might be. already the processor is not the latest in tablet technology, but hopefully there is the 512MB RAM so taht gingerbread may have a hope of being ported to it when it comes out.

Will we be able to use a GPS dongle or any USB mobile modems with it?

    TIA
