Archos launches Archos 10 Laptop

Posted by Charbax on January 14th, 2009

The Archos 10 comes with a 10.2″ LED backlit screen, a 160GB hard drive, 1GB RAM of memory, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, a 1.3 megapixel webcam, an Intel Atom N270 processor and Microsoft Windows XP.

MSRP suggested retail pricing in Europe is going to be: 349€ for the 3-cell battery option and 379€ for the 6-cell battery version.

MSRP suggested retail pricing in the USA is going to be: $399 for the 3-cell battery option and $449 for the 6-cell battery version.

That positions Archos 10 MSRP at about 50€ or $50 cheaper than the Asus eee 1000h and the Samsung Nc10 which have about the same hardware configurations.

No word yet if there is going to be an Archos 10G version with a built-in HSDPA modem.

Well, that’s a win for Archos fans. I think people who are used to the Asus and other brands may also consider switching. After all, you can get the same hardware and comfortably work on self hosted blogs or create a better website using it.
